Our mission & vision

Code/IT Academy empowers individuals in the Uplands region to build meaningful and profitable careers in tech through flexible, pathway-based education. We offer comprehensive training in key tech disciplines, fostering skill development, industry readiness, and community and employer connections. Our program creates a bridge between those seeking to enter or advance in the tech industry and the employers who need qualified talent.

Our partnerships

Code/IT is a partnership between The Mill, Regional Opportunity Initiatives (ROI), and Ivy Tech and is funded through a $1.37 million grant from the Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI). Since it’s launch in June of 2020 nearly 200 people have gone through Code/IT’s ten weeks of free training.

Our Model

Step 1: Application
Students complete an application form, providing information on their background, skills, and career goals.

Step 2: Review & Placement
Applications are reviewed to confirm eligibility.  Students are matched with a pathway.

Step 3: 10-Week Training
Students complete training online or in person. Career development workshops and one-on-one coaching are completed.

Step 4: Certification
Students complete the corresponding certification exam. This should happen within a month of training.

Step 5: Graduation
Our cohorts graduate and move on to either job placement or continue in the next step of their pathway!
